End of Year Wearable Arts Extravaganza
Kia ora koutou!
Next Wednesday night (14 December 2011), we have our End of Year Wearable Arts Extravaganza. Six classes will be presenting their great works of art and/or dance talents in the hall. The show kicks off at 7pm, which means, Room 8 children will need to be in the classroom by 6.30 to get ready. The children have been working hard in groups to make amazing Korowai and create a dance for the finale.
We appreciate your support and hope you enjoy the show :)
Well done swimmers. You are all making fantastic progress at swimming time. It is amazing to see the change in confidence in such a short time. Kapai! Keep up the great work. Your challenge is to float on your front and back! :)
Welcome back!! :)
Wow, we are into the last term for the year already!
Welcome back everybody. We hope u had an awesome holiday.
At the end of last term the children in Room 8 presented a mini-concert to the children in Room 3. They practised and presented part of a song or rhyme in accompaniment to the untuned instruments they made. Kapai! What awesome musicians we have in Room 8!
Best Dressed Bear Competition
The children have been busy over the last two weeks preparing for the competition. First they had to design a costume and then start saving money to pay for the materials they needed. This Inquiry Unit has been great to teach the children all about money, saving and not being able to buy things if they do not have enough money! Here are a couple of our entries:
Welcome Kaiden, Santana, Maiti, Brooklyn, Kaiden & Ezekiel
A warm welcome to our new boys from Room 4. You are settling in really well and showing great listening skills :) We also welcome Ezekiel back from the North Island. We hope you all enjoy being in Room 8!
Music
Mrs Marley has been teaching us how to play instruments to a beat. We have really enjoyed making our own instruments too. Check out some of our shakers below:
RWC 2011 - GO THE ALL BLACKS!
Wow! We are really getting behind the Rugby World Cup in Room 8. We have all chosen a team to support and made flags to hang around the classroom. We have learnt lots of great facts about a few different countries and made posters to display our information. Thanks for all of your help at home :)
